Our Beginnings

Probst Electric was founded in 2004 by Redgie Probst, focusing on commercial and residential electrical projects. With the addition of V.P. Karl Studer in 2007, the company expanded from commercial electrical to high-voltage. We began our first substantial transmission project in 2007 with the Bridger Butte Wind Project in Bridger, WY. This exciting new era for Probst Electric included expanding operations into new territories, including multiple western states.

Extreme Growth

2008-2011 was a significant period of growth for Probst Electric. Our Commercial Electrical Division was awarded one of the largest electrical projects in the history of Midway City. With multiple high-voltage electrical projects occurring in Idaho, we expanded our office and fleet by opening a full-time location in Rupert, ID. This further solidified our commitment to serving the needs of Idaho communities. This new location helped establish an economic base for an underserved area.

A Quanta Services Company

With the conclusion of the MATL project in 2012, we began another new adventure. We were officially acquired by Quanta Services (PWR) in November 2013. Joining Quanta Services expanded our potential capabilities and opened up new and exciting opportunities in the mid-to-large-sized project sectors. This allowed us to take on much larger and more complex projects.

Large Scale Projects

Company growth remained a significant theme for Probst Electric from 2016-2019. Due to this growth, it was time to move to a larger, more suitable office headquarters. In 2017 we moved into our new headquarters building in Heber, UT, to accommodate our expansion.

Critical Work

Beginning in 2020, amidst the COVID-19 shutdowns, uncertainty became the norm for most industries. Fortunately, our industry stood apart as an essential critical infrastructure business recognized by the U.S. government.
